Senior Presentation of Learning

Purpose

Senior Presentations of Learning is a process and an event for Bonners to reflect on their service experiences and to articulate personal transformations brought about by participation in the Bonner Program while anticipating their place in the world after graduation.

To prepare for the capstone, you are asked to meaningfully synthesize their individual experiences on a broader scale in order to communicate the combination of personal, cultural, social, political, and educational shifts that occur as results of the Bonner journey. Where appropriate, you are asked to make connections with their academic coursework and vocational trajectories.

Our hope is that your Senior Presentations of Learning will serve as a testament to the work you have done as a Bonner. Additionally, your experience and insights are likely to inspire their fellow Bonners and a variety of stakeholders both on campus and in the community who will be invited to attend.

Key Dates

A draft of your presentation (slides or notes) is due on Monday, March 1st. Use the guiding question on this page to prepare your draft.

Your final presentations will be scheduled for the final weeks of April and first weeks of May.

Guiding Questions

Your presentation of learning is an excellent opportunity to reflect on your four-year journey. Use the guiding questions on this page to develop your presentation.

Self and Your Bonner Experience
- What factors motivated you to join the Bonner Program?
- What did you learn about yourself through Bonner experience? In other words, how have these experiences been instrumental in your evolution as an individual?
- What value do you bring to the program through your presence, efforts, and participation?
Your Bonner Experience and Education
- How did your Bonner experiences (service, meetings, mentorship, capstone, & capacity-building projects) and your academic activities (courses, conferences, internships) inform each other?
Your Bonner Experience and Community
- What legacy are you leaving in the community through Bonner?
  - Use this time to briefly discuss your capacity-building / capstone-level project as well.
- How did individuals, organizations in the community, and service experiences contribute to your growth (as an individual and a civic-minded professional) or enhance your college experience?
Profession and Your Bonner Experience
- How did your Bonner experience shape your career vision?
- In what ways could you/will you use your professional background to continue making positive impact in the community?

Feedback

We are seeking feedback on the entire Senior Presentation of Learning process, from the earliest introduction to the group and individual training and support and finally to the presentation day arrangements itself.
